    Anybody who has us taking Dwyer should be banned from the Internet forever. And ever.

    I’m just sad that Dan Williams has only showed up once so far. :(

    Earl Thomas would be a nice addition, though I am a fan of Dan as well.

    when they have Earl listed as S, I hope they mean FS. I think Pollard has the SS nailed. I would rather get a ginormous NT instead

    I say target 3-4 guys who realistically should be there by the 20th pick and if they aren’t there, don’t reach. Trade down into the lower 1st round or upper 2nd and stock picks. This is a draft where quality will be there in rounds 2 thru 4.

    When you lose games by not punching the ball in from the one and your starting RB has neck surgery.Then you have a rookie that is coming off a blown knee in college you need to go after the best durable back in the draft at #1. Jonathan Dwyer! NO serious injuries,fast,tough,can explode on the outside.
    Just so you know E.Thomas is going to be a good player but in the NFL FS has to cover BIG FAST TE’s.Something he hasn’t seen in college!

    Cody’s an overweight slob who doesn’t get penetration. I don’t want him in any round. It would be nice to have a great RB, but these guys don’t look that great, and our running problems are probably as much due to the line as the RBs, so I’m not big on a first round RB. FS, CB, G, DT – all those are reasonable targets, but not with Cody. If reports say Mays can’t cover, I don’t want him at FS. Thomas can cover and he’s opportunistic, so that’s a plus, but he’s small. Maybe Iupati is the best option, but would the Texans go that way if Thomas is available? I’d be happy with Dan Williams, Iupati, or Thomas.

    Thanks for putting this together again – it’s a lot of fun.

    I like Toby Gerhart in the third round. Anyone else?

    Noz, can see you have a problem with the NC game, really a Bama hater. If Cody is occupying at least (2) lineman, that creates a hole for someone else to get into the backfield. Cody does that to teams, call him what you may, Cody is a good pick. Granted each of us have our views on the 1st pick, mine included. I will still be happy with the pick the Texans make, all the fans want to get to the next level, including myself. Have a nice day.

    @otto44

    I have been gushing about Toby Gerhart at #80 so often that I’m afraid we as a Texans fan base are showing our hand.

    Gerhart is a perfect fit to our team and would be one of the best third-round picks we’ve ever made (only real competition is Eric Winston at this point)

    So, yes, I’m interested.

    In my most recent mock draft, we made a couple trades, but ended up with this haul:

    #30 – Brian Price
    #50 – Nate Allen
    #60 – Donovan Warren
    #91 – Toby Gerhart
    #123 – Roddrick Muckelroy

    Throw in Blair White in the fifth round, Jonathan Crompton and Zoltan Mesko in the 6th, and James Starks in the 7th, with Brandon Minor and Lawrence Marsh our big UDFA acquisitions. Any complaints to this draft?

    We need a true run stopper to plug the middle, just think how much opposing qb’s would suffer with Brian running unimpeaded to em!

    what was Cushing’s final spot on the Draft tracker last year?

  14. Chris
    Feb 14, 2010 at 14:54:38

    @Tyler
    Cushing was #1 with 33% of all the mocks I had surveyed. Clay Matthews and Malcolm Jenkins tied for #2 at 24%.

    But when I first launched it last year, Aaron Maybin was by FAR the leader until after the Combine… in the end it ended up being accurate.

    That said, if I had been doing the Tracker in 2008, I’m sure it wouldn’t have come close to nailing the Duane Brown pick. If they trade down, all bets are off.

    Well Chris Stueber of scouts .com resembles that remark.

    Might just be a running back this year. Goes against every history and trend but you never know. I cna just about see the writing on the wall. I’k not sure where Iupati is going but I doubt it’s as low as Dallaa @ 27.

    All you Dan Williams fans, you do know that Frank Okam had a better combine and college production than Dan?

  18. kyle

    @Larry

    1. Dan Williams was deemed “unblockable” by some critics, an achievement Okam never earned.

    2. Dan Williams is 40 pounds less fat than Okam. At 360+, Okam could never have been anything more than a 3-4 nose tackle, and that was a mistake to draft him for a 4-3.

    3. Dan Williams isn’t going to law school. All those questions about Myron Rolle and his focus on football…well, the same questions revolve around Okam.

    That said, my number one pick for the draft is Devin McCourty, or, if the stars align and we sign Leigh Bodden, trade down with Arizona or Dallas and snatch Ryan Matthews from San Diego.

    Will the Mock Draft Tracker win again? It’s close between Wilson and Thoams. If it ends up being a tie then adding another Mock Draft might be in order.

    Wilson, Thomas, Pouncey in that order for me. I don’t want a RB in the first round. I never even considered Pouncey until you posted, or Soccty posted, that video of the Jets Jenkins throwing our center like a rag doll with a bull rush up the middle. That was sickening!! Once I saw that, I started giving Pouncey serious thoughts.
