I dont really know how I feel about Ramsey, I mean I know we just want him for backup duties. With the consistency that The Schaub stays on the field with tells me that we need a reliable backup. Hopefully Ramsey has the tools to fill in and be effective. Smith I dont know much about except that he is probably the best 4-3 DE on the market. I am wondering if the Texans are gonna look at Canty at all??

Nah, Smith will be the highest profile FA we sign, no doubt. You probably typed that before the Smith story hit.

Luckily, we no longer need to feel icky about Ramsey signing.

Yeah that was before the signing, everything I am reading says we like the pick up of Smith. I am wondering since I wasnt into to the blogs and boards back then was everyone excited about Weaver, when we signed him also?? From what I know Orlovsky should be a reliable backup.

The idea of bringing in Benson really makes me want to vomit, of all the losing seasons we’ve had at least I could say we have class. I guess with our eyes on the playoffs Smithiak are relaxing their standards. Same thing has happened in the Army for the past few years and now we have a bunch of yahoos to try to straighten up. If he does sign I hope there is a stipulation in the contract for player conduct.

If Benson signs here I think he will be on a short leash. I would like them to take a look at ward also. Signing one of the two would give us even more flexibility in the draft.

Texans need to improve thier #2 WR. Walter is a #3, Davis should be our return specialist and Jacoby hasn’t panned out at WR. I would love to see the Texans make a run at Limus Sweed from the Steelers maybe for the 4th rounder we got for Sage.

Also I wouldn’t mind seein Jacoby to the Broncos for Tim Crowder DE. Crowder maybe cut and if Jacoby is going to be traded for a late round pick it maybe a good fit for both teams.

Yes I am a bit of a Longhorn homer, that said both players are in positions that would make sense for the Texans and the potential benefit vastly out weights the cost of aquiring those players.

I would like to see a little more action out of the Texans than this. I’m not saying spend crazy money but there are some qaulity players that they should be looking at. Examples Chris Carr, Tank Johnson, Mark Tauscher, Keith Davis (SHSU), and Scott Jackson (FFF). None of these players would break the bank and all of them would provide qaulity depth or be in competition for starting at their position.

Texans need to sign another quarterback to compete with Brink…..How about Chase Holbrook from New Mexico State? Good accuracy and physical attributes as well as arm strength.
