Matt Schaub continues to silence his critics

What a night for Matt Schaub in Miami. He ran away with the Pro Bowl MVP award, and with his two sacks, I would expect that Mario Williams was not far from being the runner-up.

Obviously the Pro Bowl is meaningless, but you have to say that for whatever possible good could come out of it, the Texans players maximized the opportunities they had.

On top of Mario’s two sacks, he also had two tackles for loss, several QB hurries (including one that forced an interception) and one play where he spared the life of Aaron Rodgers. That play should have been Mario’s first of three sacks, but instead he showed some mercy in a game that wasn’t important. To my delight, he wasn’t so kind to Tony Romo. :)

I’ll have another entry up later. I’ve tapped this one out on my phone so I’m not able to go as deep a I’d like. Until then I’m left to wonder what Brian Cushing would have done last night.

You know the Haters are still out Chris. No matter what he does, people will still hate on what Matt has done. I’m proud of my Texans in the Pro Bowl.

Jason Dick from 101X just said that it’s an embarrassment that Schaub got the MVP for the Pro Bowl when he’s not even a top 10 QB in the league…what a dumba$$.

Hopefully Matt continues this level of performance into next year. For the Mario haters, I think it’s apparent what he can do when he isn’t doubled teamed all the time. Playoffs here we come!!!!

“I guess they’re right, old people, though slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. Don’t you go dyin’ on me!”

Sorry and sadly, movie quotes surround my vernacular like a room hula-hooping around your face when your wasted. The old comment made me think of the D and D’er quote, and Vaughn’s Old School quote on what old people do.

Mr. Shaub deserved that award and extremely happy he got it, no matter how meaningless it really is. It did get to showcase what the Texans are capable of.

I just can’t believe what my eyes just showed me on the Houston newspaper website that torpedoed the Post. Kubiak contract extension!?!?!? I, like Chris am a Kubiak supporter, but I am truly surprised.

My biggest hope in reference to the Pro Bowl MVP award is that Schaub can start to nudge his way into the discussion of best QBs in the league.

Keep in mind, Schaub was #1 in passing yards.

AS far as the extension, someone made a very good point on Pancakes’ comments page. Just because he got an extension doesn’t mean he isn;t fired if the team doesn’t progress next season.

It’s a gesture of good faith, but don’t confuse it for unchallenged tenure for the next four years.
