Please, please stop. If you’ve said this, or you’ve thought this. Stop.
The Texans are two yards from being 4-1? How? Because of two goal line failures? Has anyone bothered to mention that in both of the botched goal line situations, the Texans were - at best - going to TIE the game, not win it outright?
Also, how about this one? “The Texans are one horrible NFL rule away from being 1-4.” If not for Jacoby Jones being saved by the rulebook in week two against the Titans, we probably would have lost that game.
The Texans have won two games. Two games against two teams with a combined record of 1-9. Their three losses have come to teams with a combined record of 7-7. Not exactly a Murderer’s Row, is it?
This of course harkens back to last year when people were saying we were a few plays from 10-6. Wrong. We were a miracle catch by Andre Johnson against Miami away from being 7-9.
The Texans, more than any other team I can remember - are exactly what their record is and has been for the last couple of years. No running game, little pass rush, and more times than not, no ability to stop the run and you think this team should be 4-1? Come on.

Its all a matter of perception.

I’m a glass half full kind of guy and I love the Texans so I’ll always think of the “what if” scenerios and spin it in a more positive direction favoring the Texans. For instance, if we had only won the 3 games we lost……we’d be UNDEFEATED!!!!
Go TEXANS!!
Go HORNS!!

I consider myself a realist.
The Texans are lucky they aren’t 1-4 because so far through the season thats the kind of team they’ve shown us to be this year.

Gerb is a genius and a real Diehard fan! Who else in this dismal environment could have “what if’d” a better senario! That is thinking outside the bun, a stroke of brilliance, exploring better possibilities for our team through cosmic consiousness. You sir Gerb, are a fan on the first order, and I commend you on those unfashionable, though unique, red tinted lens’s you’re sporting. Tell us where we all can buy a pair! Go Texans!! OOOMMMM!

What about two yards away from POSSIBLY being 4-1? That’s the only way I’ve read it.
To be clear, I don’t say or think like that, but throwing that “possibly” in there does give them the loophole, whether you buy into it or not, right?

@beef
I could accept that IF both situations would have been game-WINNING TDs rather than game-tying.

I accept your acceptance.
Both games would’ve likely gone into overtime and whomever won the toss would’ve likely won, but wasn’t our defense tightening up in the second halves of both games? Dunno… is it making you think??
I’m just tuggin’ your tugger.

Beat the Bengals or the season is over.
For Gary Kubiak, Matt Schaub, Rick Smith, and Frank Bush this game basically determines their future.
If that Monday Night Football game doesn’t mean anything, then a disappointed Bob McNair will be forced to go in another direction.
