I have no idea why I care about this. It’s football. I’m not supposed to care about uniforms, colors, and the way they go together… but for some reason, every year I look forward to knowing the uniform combinations. It’s kind of like when the NFL Schedule comes out, but somehow even more pathetic.
One thing I’m a little disappointed to read – we have to look at the all-red ketchup bottle/Kool-Aid Man uniforms TWICE in 2009. I wish they’d bring back the original Battle Red jerseys with white pants… but now, it’s cherry popsicles – twice. Once at home against Jacksonville, and once against the Titans on Monday night, so that the entire nation can know our shame.
Me – I prefer the white jerseys with blue pants. That’s my favorite combo.

Yeah… at least make that first battle red game against the Jaguars; the red/white uni’s.
My favorite combination is the Blue/Blue Uni’s. I like the fact that it’s as close to the color black as you can get… I think it looks pretty wicked! The red stripe on the shoulders just pops out too!

On a side note I just saved a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to geico. Call me crazy but I think if we went with white helmets it would look alot cooler. A man can dream.

I wish it was red on white jerseys also. But I don’t think red/red is as bad as others do. And I think with continued success it’s something that the players and fans can really embrace in due time.

It wouldn’t be bad if you maybe had a blue stripe going down the middle, a la Penn State. But I’d like something to remain a constant in the uniform over the years. The best helmet and uniform combinations are the ones that have never changed (I guess that’s why they never changed). How cool is the Steelers helmet? Or the Colts uniforms, which have largely stayed the same. I love the simplicity.

I’m with you on the red/white combo, I like that too. All blue vs. the Colts I like because the helmet is the same color. They should play around and come up with an all black uni with some red and white trimming. Wear it in the Nov./Dec./Jan. Home games.

7-2 record on Battle Red day, but I think they’re undefeated wearing the red/red combo.
I don’t like the idea of black unis. That would look a lot like Texas Tech unis, and the black doesn’t fit the color scheme. The blue is dark enough.
I would be open to a white helmet for the white unis, but you’d see them get crazy with that kind of thing and all the combinations would get out of hand. I think the stripes on the white pants could use some updating; maybe flip the red and blue on them if you were to use them with the red shirts. Kind of makes me a hypocrite since I just warned about too many combo options though, heh

Hate to keep posting, but do the home teams give the away teams advance notice on what their uni combo will be? Look at this picture of the Bears and the Texans. http://assets.houstontexans.com/UserFiles/Image/UC-20-CHI-Slaton.jpg While obviously the guys in the blue shirts are the Texans, you kind of wish the Bears had worn a different pant color. Too close for comfort for me.

I really LOVE the all red, and i dont really have a reason as too why. i guess those are just the most fun games because its usually a great opponent as well as a nationally televised game…
an all black could be sweet, with a black helmet with a white texans logo and white stripes on the jersey;s and pants. but then that doesnt really “go” with anything that the texans have ever had color wise so…

We are undefeated in the all red uniforms! I say wear them every game. Seriously though once they loose wearing all red the fascination will die. I prefer the blue jerseys with white pants. What can I say, I am a simple man.

* The pants need some updating that is for sure. Something about that really thick stripe in the middle.
* I think the Jerseys will have some changes soon though guys. That might be one thing McNair is considering in the near future. To get fans to buy my merchandise. If you change it up, alot of fans will want the updated jersey. Either a new design or like I brought up before…..
* The black unis. Black helmet. That would be nice. I’m thinking more black and less red so I didnt think of TTU but thats a good point. But lets just not go the Oregon route. We dont need 16 combos.

FWIW, I don’t like any same color combo, be it the all red uni’s or all blue. It makes them look like Arena leaguers, throw some white in there. But you can’t beat how the stadium looks on Battle Red Day.

I Love the Red Jerseys, They are my favorite. I prefer white pants but the all red is ok . Battle Red Day is always rockin.

I agree!! I can’t stand those red pants they make the whole uniform look awful, the red doesn’t look as bright when it’s red-on-red. I loved the white pants because they made the red jersey’s look amazing due to the contrast.
