It’s a bad time for a short break…

Really? Right before training camp?
It’s not the best timing, but I’m going to be AWOL for the next several days. I’ll probably be able to sneak in a quick post here or there, but I can’t promise anything. The second part of the Training Camp Preview podcast will auto-post late-morning tomorrow, but it might be a few days into camp before you hear anything else from me, and if you do it will be quick.

Hopefully the next time I log on, all our rookies will be signed. I’m not holding my breath on Owen or DeMeco… and I think we all know it’s going to be a while before we hear from Dunta Robinson.

HDH Fantasy Football update
We have 14 takers for fantasy football. If most of the first twelve are okay with fourteen people in the league, we’ll do 14. The confirmed players are:
AllenOU
Truth
nactexanfan
KD
AmericanIdle
Chris
Battle Red Bill
Tailgate Andy
KO
Doc P
Lumberjackato
LA26
StevieWonder and Gerb – If the majority is good with 14, you guys are in.

While I’m away, please use the comments below to discuss the league if you like. I suggest you guys kick around three issues to start with:

1 – 12 vs. 14 players.
2 – League host. I’ve already seen a ton of people who prefer Yahoo.
3 – PPR league, or no?

I’ll be taking any and all suggestions for scoring, etc., but let’s save that for when I get back… and at that time we’ll also tackle the big question about when we can set up the live draft.

HDH NFL Picks league
The pick leagues aren’t open to create yet, so we’ll hold off until they’re available to start getting everyone signed up. Again – there’s no cap on who can join so no worries about space.

Notice the new address,Chris, somehow i got locked out and i no longer know where i was born (security question gone wild), thus the new address.
14 is fine by me, how about 8 make playoffs?
    Whats PPR?
Please no extra points for longer FG’s. And maybe -1 for misses, as field position is lost, but not -3,-4, or -5, its hokey, IMHO.
I dont know yahoo ff but its fine by me.

I’m cool with 14, I definetly think we should do PPR, and my vote is for Yahoo.

Doc P – PPR means “Point Per Reception”

We will try and hold it down here while you are gone Chris

***I’m thinking Owen might sign an extention before the season starts like Winston did last year. DeMeco has more years left so I think they will worry about him during the season or next off season. Dunta will sign his tender in the Sept. 5-7 area. I forgot about Kevin Walter too. I don’t want to see him walk after next year. Signing him might mean Andre Davis might not come back next year.

***Never used Yahoo but I don’t mind. Everyone seem to like it so I gues it can’t be bad.

***I’m cool with the 14 as well. Good players are going to run dry quickly. I guess that calls for beter management.

***I don’t have a preference on scoring either. It’s like an umpire, let me know your strike zone and I will adjust.

***Fantasy drafts are exciting and unpredictable so i’m looking forward to that.

I’m fine with 14. I did one last year and it was fun. Yahoo is ok by me, never used it but everyone seems to like it. I vote for no ppr, but I don’t care really. Whatever yall want is fine. You talkin bout doin a live draft with everyone together or just online

I’ve only used ESPN and CBSSPORTS. I’m sure Yahoo is pretty much the same. I’ve never done a PPR league but am fine with trying. Would add a new strategy when drafting which could be more entertaining. What about the player starters format? QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex, Def, K?? Should we have a flex or not?

Snake is the best way but a 14 way auction could be fun

I vote for no ppr and I am cool with yahoo. 14 people is fine with me.The difference between yahoo and CBSsportsline is minutely different. The way you set up your draft board is different because with sportsline you rank the positions and then you rank the players at that position, while on yahoo you rank the best player.Defense is weighted heavier on sportsline than yahoo.I call dibs on Andre Johnson…just kidding

Not sure what ppr is but I’ll go with the majority.

I usually pick Andre Johnson #1 overall (fair warning lol)

There’s not really anything I’m opposed to, so whatever everyone else wants is fine with me.

i think the draft should go like this.

I get AP, FORTE, SLATON, AJ, FITZ, giants D and GATES.

Chris gets VICK, BURRESS, FAVRE, CHRIS HENRY, and CHRIS BROWN and MATT JONES.

    The rest can be auctioned!!

    That sounds fair for everyone
