It’s like a linebacker parade around here.
The Houston Fox affiliate is reporting the Texans will visit with two more LBs. Mark Berman says the Texans “may sign” free agent Buster Davis, and they will also visit with Tyjuan Hagler.
Hagler is 6-0, 236 pounds, and 27 years old. He’s been in the league three seasons, all with the Colts. He’s bounced back and forth from the strong to weak side, and has spot started in the past. He was a fifth-round draft pick in 2006.
Davis was drafted in the third round by the Cardinals in 2007, but failed to make the team. He was released before the first regular season game. Hmm, getting drafted in the third, then getting cut? Ouch. Since then he’s had stints with the Lions and Colts. Davis is on the small side, at 5-9, 236 pounds. He’s only 25 and along with Hagler seems like a much more realistic (but much less exciting) choice for linebacker depth than yet another ex-Colt, Cato June.
I don’t really know anything about these guys other than what I researched tonight. This Fox report is actually about 24 hours long, so we should know soon if anything comes of it, or if the LB carousel will continue.
