I guess the signing of QB Patrick Ramsey isn’t as much of a sure thing as it previously seemed. The Texans are hosting free agent QB Dan Orlovsky today and tomorrow.
Personally I’d rather see them score Orlovsky over Ramsey… he’s younger, and obviously has a higher potential ceiling than Ramsey, who we already know “is who he is.” I’m pretty sure most every Texan fan feels the same way.
Still, whoever the backup ends up being - it’s not going to make any of us regret getting a 4th round pick for Sage, who eventually would have walked away without compensation coming back to the team.

There are three types of QB’s out there for the texans to choose from:
1.) veteran who manages the game-gus frerote, brad johnson
2.)The no name guys(out of college)- Ryan fitzpatrick, Dan Orlovsky
3.) the guys who have the tools to be sucessful but have not- kyle boller and Patrick ramsey
I did a lengthy entry in predicting it would be ramsey but that is not who I want.
Here is my criteria
1) just win baby
We got to get the guy that will win us the most games. So that in my book eliminates Orlovski because he won 0 games and fitzpatrick has not been great,
2) We need to play to win and not not lose.
This throws the game managers out. I think if we were a better running team we could live with a game manager. As of now, we need somebody that can get the ball to our playmakers.
So that leaves Kyle boller and Patrick Ramsey. I do not think Kyle Boller has been given a fair opportunity in baltimore. He has never had the weopons that we have on offense. I think he would be the best fit of the QB’s out there. He has a cannon on him, he just needs to get better in decision making and considering our last backup QB got the nickname rosencopter because of a bad decision it is not a huge drop off from rosenfels to boller.

Im a Texans fan living in Baltimore..Kyle Boller has all the potential in the world. I have seen him play here for a few years now, and agree he can make the big play. But his drive to make the big play kills him mentally and leads to turnovers. If he can settle in the pocket and learn to step up with the ability to make a short dump off, he will flourish. Unfortunatly, Baltimore never gave him the WR options the Texans have. I would be excited to see him in the Blue and Red.
