The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Quinn Gray has been offered a one-year, $635K deal plus a $40K signing bonus by the Texans. Gray himself says he doesn’t plan on leaving Houston without a deal, and that he’s ready to sign.

You know, I must admit – that’s a smaller number than I thought he’d sign for. Maybe he actually would stick as a No. 3 with this team, but I still think this spells the end of Sage Rosenfels’ time as a Texan if this deal gets done. He could be traded tomorrow, or he could be traded on draft day. Either way, the Texans would now have an insurance policy behind Sage if they’re offered a deal they can’t refuse.
