He’s 29, so a little older than the ideal guy you’d want to bring in – but that makes him a full four years younger than the other free agent center they’re chasing after, John Wade. Hartwig was released by the Panthers. He started 15 games last year, and was part of a solid offensive line in Carolina before things started going south for the Panthers.
Oh, also, we need him because he and the other Texans’ linemen could trade stories about David Carr.
