Ravens LB Bart Scott:
“I hate everybody on every other team than mine. I don’t give a [expletive] about anybody on any other team – period. I don’t speak to them during the game. I’m not high-fiving guys. And I’m talking about guys who have been here and left, too. It doesn’t matter. You’re trying to take something away from me that I deem important. Why should I care about you? Why should I like you? You don’t have to like me, and I don’t have to like you.
“Ask me who I’m rooting for in the Super Bowl. If I’m not in it, I hope they cancel the damn thing.”
OH MY GOD I want this guy to be a Texan so much it hurts. I don’t care if he doesn’t fit the system. I don’t care how much money it takes. I don’t care how old he is (28). I don’t care if someone needs to be moved around – THAT is the kind of football player I want on my team.
Also – he’s a free agent after this season. I’m just saying.
The above quote is an excerpt from an article on Yahoo about how there is still bad blood in the NFL. That article gave me the warm fuzzies, I must confess. I want teams to hate each other. I want there to be bounties, and I want there to be guys who want to knock the ever-living crap out of each other. It’s just how I like my football.
Quick site announcement: There are some matters I need to tend to this weekend. Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch the Texans vs. Packers game live, but I’ll record it and give my typical summary sometime early next week.
Everyone have a GREAT weekend, enjoy the game, and above all else – get us a win. With me not watching live, and not providing my typical cheery in-game comments over at BRB’s live game blog – someone’s going to have to pick up the slack.
Take care, and I’ll be back before you even miss me.

Re: his being a free agent, he also has the perfect size/strength to play SLB in a
4-3. I’m just sayin’.

No freaking kidding. I love Bart Scott… the man is an old school warrior and that is exactly the kind of guy you want on your team. My favorite sports quote of all time.
