I was really disappointed, but not surprised, to see that the Texans cut OLB DJ Bryant today. It just goes to show you, there are some guys that literally cannot do enough to make an NFL team. Damn that numbers game.

I guess it also shows us just how much the Texans think of Bryan Braman… or Jesse Nading? One of whom is the OLB above Bryant in the pecking order. Braman didn’t do much this preseason (only played in first two games I believe) and is thought to have a minor injury. Bryant consistently pressured the quarterback in the preseason, and I would think is going to hook on elsewhere based on his performance. Understandably, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with Gary- uh, I mean Wade Phillips’ decision based on his tweet “3 sacks in one game and u get released I’m not mad at all because I kno some team is going to b happy to have me #FINAO”

I have no idea what FINAO means, but I’m sure it’s something hip.

Jonathan Grimes also showed very well in the preseason, and if he clears waivers he should be a lock to land on the practice squad.

Loni Hebron Fun Times Fatty Fangupo – was excited about him joining the team, but didn’t see much from him. Should clear waivers and hit the practice squad.

Case Keenum – I’m not a UH alumn, so I guess I just don’t get the infatuation. Now, if QB Josh McCown were to become available, we should sign him immediately!

Alan Ball – Even though he’s a Wade guy, he was just so awful in the preseason that you knew for sure he was headed for the chopping bl– what’s that? He’s still on the team? If he sticks in Houston and actually sees the field, he will join the Mount Rushmore of Houston Defensive Backs alongside Petey Faggins, Jacques Reeves, and Karee– uh, Will Demps.

As of about 6PM Friday night, the Texans still have to remove three names from the roster. One will be officially placing hard-luck Rashad Butler on IR, leaving two final cuts. Can they cut Alan Ball twice?
