UPDATE - As reported by SEVEN THOUSAND DIFFERENT TWEETS – Mario Williams is set to receive a “monster” offer from Bills which would make him the highest paid defender in the NFL.
UPDATE - Chris Myers apparently in talks with both the Texans and the Titans according to that miserable so-and-so Florio.

Free Agency is in full swing. Last time we experienced free agency, it was one of the best times ever to be a Texans fan, as the team signed CB Jonathan Joseph and S Danieal Manning.
Well, tonight is um… the opposite of that. From all my blogging, tweeting, reading tweets, blogs, etc., here’s what the average Texan fan thought was going on over roughly the last 25 hours:
The Texans were most likely going to lose Mario Williams, but would probably find a way to re-sign Chris Myers, and may have an outside shot at BOTH Myers and Mike Brisiel.
Then came the stunner. Eric Winston was cut. Wow, well the Texans must be up to something! They either are going to sign Myers AND Brisiel, or have something else entirely up their sleeve! This is getting exciting?!?
Matt Leinart cut, as expected. Lawerence Vickers cut, not a big surprise. Texans are clearing more and more room.
Still no word on Myers, Brisiel, or Mario… tick tock tick tock.
And then came 3PM today and… nothing.
So now we are looking at – losing Mario (which was always going to happen), losing Chris Myers (reportedly wants Nick Mangold money – GOOD LUCK WITH THAT and goodbye), maybe making a deal to keep Mike Brisiel, and the team has already jettisoned Eric Winston.
Ouch. The team isn’t getting any better, that’s for sure. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s certainly natural to feel some apprehension specifically when it comes to the offensive line, which WILL have as many as THREE new starters out of five, and is a virtual lock to have TWO new starters with Winston (gone) and Myers (as good as gone).
I’ve been a fervent supporter of Mario Williams getting his big payday. It would almost be irresponsible for him to take $10-20 million less to stay in Houston. But Buffalo? Come on, big fella. You can get paid in a LOT of cities… but that team isn’t even going to be in Buffalo by the end of the length of your contract. Whatever, at least Bud Adams is now chasing Peyton Manning and that will keep him away from Mario.
More updates later… probably to discuss Buffalo Bill Mario Williams and his $45 million-plus in guaranteed money.

I told you they should have traded him a year ago. Mario leaves and maybe we get a pick at the end of the 3rd. I blame Rick Smith.
