Let’s try something a little bit different

I’ve been running this site since 2007 (I think it was 2007). I’ve enjoyed it immensely, and will continue to do so. Real life has changed in the last several months (in a very good way) but it is also taking up more and more of my time. I have NO plans to stop writing about the Texans, but I also don’t want to leave loyal readers and friends hanging for a week at a time when things get a little crazy.

Obviously this is an independent, ad-free website, not powered or supported by a network. I’ve turned down every offer for advertising, every offer to monetize the site, and every offer to fold my site into a sports blog network. I’m just not interested in giving up any sort of control. As you may have guessed by now, I am an admitted control freak when it comes to this site.

So I want to keep things fresh, and I don’t want a lot of time to pass between entries when my life gets crazy… although that’s never really been a problem during the season. With all that in mind, I was approached by fellow Texans’ blogger Jake Langenkamp about making some regular contributions to the site, and I accepted. I’ve done podcasts with Jake in the past, and we’ve always had a little bit of a different perspective on things as they pertain to the Texans. I think having a different voice might enhance your enjoyment of the site, and further promote debate amongst readers.

In other site news – if you log on and things look a little odd, I am making some slight changes to the site here and there. Honestly, I’ve got the itch to do a complete and total redesign (as I did a few years ago), but I think I get more compliments on the design of the site than I do the actual content, so maybe I don’t mess with it too much.

I hope everyone is happy and well… and I hope we all have real football to talk about soon.

One response. Wanna say something?

I really enjoyed Jake’s article on the NFL labor deal, and I’m looking forward to visiting this site to read his take on all things Texans once the season begins. Welcome home, Jake!
