Texans blow it against a terrible Denver team

Posted by: Chris on December 26th at 11:33PM

Here’s a picture of a bear.

If ___________________ doesn’t get Gary Kubiak fired, nothing will! This week, you can fill the blank in with “Sunday’s effort against the Denver Broncos.” Up 17-0 against an AWFUL team with no running game and a bad quarterback, the Texans managed to give up a lead and lose, rather than get blown out or come from behind only to fall short.

As bad as this team has been all season, I honestly thought they’d win this game by ten points or so. Looked like I was on my way to being right until, well, you know. I didn’t see any quit or lack of effort in the Texans this week – just more embarrassing incompetence.

We might just start up some offseason-style talk this week. There’s certainly nothing worth noting from Sunday’s game, that’s for sure. Just the same stuff over and over again – but prepared in a slightly different manner. Kinda like Mexican food.

Yep, that’s all I’ve got. A joke about Mexican food. I think their effort today deserved an effort like that from me.

Next season can’t start soon enough.

Funny, as soon as the last drive started, I knew Kubiak’s inept play calling would lose the game. Kind of like a broken record this season. No need to hurry, and no need to keep airing it out. They were arguably in FG position already, and all they had to do was keep the ball safe on the ground. But no, Kubiak kept pushing it until Denver got a pick to seal the game.

Hopefully all the Kubiak apologists out there will wake up and realize he has directly or indirectly lost 6 or 7 games this season due to poor offensive playcalling. Having a pourous defense is no excuse. Time to send Kubiak packing and rebuild.

We should all hope that there is a major change on the coaching staff instead of the roster, and that the coaching changes involve special teams and defensive coordinators. The only excuse for being 4-2 before the bye week and 1-8 after is… well, I really don’t have a clue. Bob McNair needs to evaluate how his team is being coached and get some leadership that will stand accountable for losses and improve instead of saying “I don’t know what went wrong” after every game.

Texans could have the 2nd pick in the draft if we lose next week? If so, WOW! McNair say we on the right track. I dont want to board that train then.

A top ten pick will be nice. Hopefully we won’t use it on a TE.

What happened to our special teams? No matter how bad we have been that’s always been a bright spot on a dingy product.

Here’s to hopefully losing next week! I hate saying that

Welcome, Marty. Right now, depending on a lot of factors, I believe the Texans can draft anywhere from 5-12. I’m not the type to root for a loss to get a better draft position, but I know a lot of people are thinking that way.

Thanks for commenting and please come back!
